A computer call can now be converted into a regular phone call by means of an usb phone adapter. The regular functions of the phone remain the same via the landlines, even if you install the USB phone adapter. A manual or automatic switch is possible for accessing the Internet calling mode, which serves for dialing purposes as well. The phone usage will thus remain the same, no matter whether you receive Internet or land calls.

How does the USB phone adapter function? The adapter merely ads a new mode to the phone without any extra equipment required. The adapter can be used on any kind of phone model, and the ringing remains the same for landlines and the Internet. The computer powers the USB device, and the telephone on which you install the application can be regular or cordless without any problem whatsoever.

There are devices that enable auto-switching for incoming Internet calls or landline calls. The only way to make a difference between the calls is by following the LEDs that go on: there will be one for power, one for the Internet and one for landline calls. Some softwares are normally necessary to make the application possible, but these are included in the package of the USB phone adapter together with the cables and the installation manual. Even if the usability is incredibly large, there are nevertheless some technical requirements to be met before the installation of the adapter. Do not order a product over the Internet unless you are sure to meet the following technical conditions.

Most d link usb phone adapter designs are only compatible with Windows operating systems. Windows is the most common platform for the application. Then, only 2000, XP and Vista versions of the Windows system work for the USB phone adapter. The phone switch will not work for anything below. There should be at least 128 MB RAM and 15 MB free disk space. If you can’t determine the status of your computer, ask for professional help. Last but not least, the Internet connection is also important for the USB phone adapter, as only broadband modes such as cable or DSL are acceptable.
