The Affordable Versatility Of The Hewlett-Packard 3600 Printer Series

The HP 3600 Series Printers, composed of the 3600n (Q5987A) and the 3600dn (Q5988A) laser printers, are ideal for a small office or LAN. These two models, while sharing some innovative HP features, got a few key differences. However, both are designed to meet the needs of today’s aggressive work environment, and both come with the vivid 3600 toner cartridges.

These two units share a common type of processor, with a speed of 360 MHz. This speed is sufficient for users to churn out a maximum of 17 ppm (pages per minute), for both monochrome and colored printing jobs. They’re designed with the user in mind, so they require only simple operation. Installation is also a breeze, as it only takes a few clicks on the mouse to install the printers’ software.

Now more than ever, coming up with standout colored prints is a necessity. For the series of laser printers, HP has developed and added some innovations. For example, the new breed of toner called ColorSphere helps extend the range of colors available. In addition, such toner enables brighter and more intense color rendering. However, to achieve the best results, it is recommended to use Hewlett-Packard’s paper with 5 layers of glossy coating technology.

Making it easier to maintain the printers is the presence of only 4 cartridges to deal with. As if that’s not enough, the ColorSphere toner and the image drum are integrated into one unit. Having to replace the entire imaging unit each time results in a more consistent output. What’s more, replacement can be done in a snap, and there are no messy toner spills to worry about.

When it comes to media handling, these machines can work with a variety of sizes and types. The multipurpose tray can handle media sizes from 3″ x 5″ to as large as 8.5″ x 14″. The 250-sheet standard tray is compatible to work with sizes ranging from 5.8″ x 8.3″ to as much as 8.5″ x 14″. Compatible media types are extensive as well. They include paper (plain, glossy, bond, recycled, rough, etc.), transparencies, business cards, labels, envelopes and many others.

These laser printers can be hooked up to a desktop computer or office LAN with ease. Thanks to the connectivity options comprised of a USB 2.0 (high-speed) and Ethernet connections. What’s more, it’s easy to connect the machines to a network minus the wires, with the attachment of an optional wireless LAN 802.11b/g accessory.

The two machines belonging to the series have a few differences between them. For instance, the 3600n has a 64-MB built-in memory, while the 3600dn has a 128-MB memory. Regarding two-sided or duplex printing, it’s a manual kind for the 3600n, while it’s an automatic kind for the 3600dn. Both of them come with a compact body, making them easy to be placed even on a desktop. The 3600n has a dimension of 15.7 inches (W) x 17.7 inches (D) x 15.7 inches (H) and weighs 59.6 lbs. The 3600dn has a dimension of 15.7 inches (W) x 17.7 inches (D) x 16.7 inches (H) and weighs 61.6 lbs.

The HP 3600 Series Printers with HP toner cartridge are hassle-free to install to a PC or network, operate, and maintain. These advantages, along with the LaserJet 3600 toner cartridge, make the machines suitable for a small-scale office requiring professional-looking prints. The 3600n and 3600dn boasts of features HP has developed to catch up with various productivity requirements.
