How long will your ears be sore after you finally get an ear infection?

I was battling an ear infection about three weeks. Finally the heavy pressure in the ear and the pain subsided. The audiologist said that my ears looked fine, and that the cure or almost healed. My ears still hurt, but now Analgesics, the pain go away, where they still hardly helped. The pain I feel now feels like I bruised eardrum. How long will it take for all, go to the pain?
