garmin nuvi gps target
Need Garmin Nuvi GPS help!?
Does anyone know if a TomTom AC adapter charger will work on a Garmin Nuvi? They only sell the ones for the TomTom at Target. I need to get it in the next two days and don’t know if the charger will work. Please help! I have a Garmin Nuvi 200
Nuvi gets power from a plain ole USB Mini-B connector; you can charge it from any such power supply. (Most TomToms use Mini-B as well) I reguarly charge mine from a computer, from a Motorola cell charger, from the cables for a Mio, etc.
The only kinky thing on the Garmin is that some mini-B’s have a resistor on pin X which will put the Nuvi into “I’m attached to a computer and won’t show you a screen, but I’ll still charge” mode.
Of my two motorola cables, one does this and one doesn’t. It’s not an issue if you’re in the house (and you DID ask about A/C) but is a real drag in the car.
