y wont windows vista find my gps?

Hey everyone i just recently just traded my tom tom for the magellan eXplorist 500 and its great i love it now i loaded all my caches on to the soft wear on my computer with the softwear it came with. and it has a buttton to upoad all my caches to the gps. when i ook up my gps it recognizes there is somethig connected but it gives me the error message on the windows task bar that say” The divice you pluged in has malfunctioned and is not recognized by windows” and it comes up as a unknown device?

sounds like you don’t have the drivers for your unit.
check the manufacturers website for your model.
Vista has driver problems, not with the OS, but more like all the software companies being slow with drivers releases.
