Dreaming and standing up for that dream is what the book Listen To My Dream wants to convey. The book is primarily about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. from his child years until he passed away in Memphis on April 4, 1968. It talks of how this little black boy questions why he is dealt unlikely by people and desires on eliminating racism between the white people and the alleged Negroes.

This 40 pages soft covered book is divided into two interesting parts. Part one is stuffed with narrative poetry describing the descriptive life of Martin Luther King, Jr. since he was a little boy. Couple Michael and Debi Pearl, filled up this area with bright colored pictures that even little girls and boys be focused on this inspiring tale. The second part of the book presents thorough information about how Martin Luther King, Jr. stimulated the civil rights movement.

The book, Listen To My Dream, begins from the time little Martin interrogated his mother why people are addressing him contrary to the others and the reason why he is a black boy. However, his desires of hope and assistance for his fellow men was enthused by the support of his teacher, Ms. Lemon of Oglethorpe Elementary and was set to have faith in that vision.

Eventually, he was more persuaded to realize his goals into a reality when Rosa Parks declined in giving up her front seat for a white person, therefore King planned a boycott of the Montgomery bus system until such time that all colored persons are dealt with evenly. Ultimately, the Supreme Court banned racial discrimination in 1956 and both black and white share similar liberties. It concludes with King’s burial after he was killed at Memphis in April 4, 1968.

This children’s book is a wonderful manifestation on dreaming and transforming it into reality that could make a beneficial impact into the existence of thousands people in our world. Though the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. is rich in records, the book, Listen To My Dream, fabricated an imaginative means for children to concentrate and focused on an impressive piece of history. The poetic approach of the book makes it enticing to read aloud to children and the account on the life of Martin Luther makes it educational for young ones to learn how people gained their equal rights as well as appreciate the fair privileges they now have.

Listen To My Dream is an encouragement to people dreaming and wishing their dreams to be a reality. Martin Luther King, Jr. lived a life full of hope and determination worthy of all the credit even until the present days.
