Rough water and waves on the east side of Lake Michigan is the west side of the lake calmer?
I live in Michigan, right next to Lake Michigan and we get pounded by big waves that are stirred up from prevaling winds that come from Wisconsin or from the West. Is Lake Michigan calm on the shores of Wisconsin, because of the wind coming from shore to the water, or do you get a lot of wind from the lake also? Just curious.
Usually that is what happens, its called onshore winds (when the wind blows to your coast) on the other side of the lake it will be called off shore winds ( where the wind blows away from the coast) the water is usually still.
