The Best In-Car GPS UNIT for Greece in English?
I am looking to buy a GPS unit for my husband as a birthday gift. We live in Athens, Greece but we want the language to be in English. I am looking for something with Bluetooth and MP3 compatibility. I have heard mixed reviews about Tom Tom and Garmin – any suggestions? (Budget roughly 400 Euro) Thanks
I am a very regular visitor to Greece, and I have considered to bring my Tom-Tom with me. After contacting Tom-Tom on Internet several times, I learned that there are still no maps available for Greece. Poor performance for a perfect GPS in most of Europe’s countries.
During cab trips from Athens airport to the city, I questioned the driver about his ‘MIO’ GPS which seemed to work well. Maps are available for the Athens and Thessaloniki area only. Also ‘GARMIN’ is offering same.
Both give you the choice of language; English is always included.
I guess it will take many years before maps for the mainland & the islands will become available.
