Can I use my Tom Tom software and Bluetooth GPS receiver on my 2008 Caravan SXT without factory Nav?

We have recently bought a 2008 Dodge Caravan SXT, without the Nav sysem. It does have satellite radio and TV, touch screen selection. We didn’t get the Navigation system, as I have a Tom Tom GPS for my Palm Pilot. I would like to know if I can install the software to the van’s system to use my Bluetooth GPS receiver, basically installing GPS on the system (via the USB port) with an aftermarket GPS receiver. If I can’t no big deal – we have no regrets for passing on the Nav system, and the current GPS that I have is rarely used. I know that the USB port is for music downloading onto the factory My Gig entertainmant system, and I don’t even know if the port would work to install a program from a thumb drive. I know that the factory My Gig entertainment system has a hard drive of a few gigs, but I don’t know if it could run a program. For the 1000 cost when we bought it, my Palm Tom Tom works fine – but if I have all of the needed stuff, I would like to set it up. Just curious..

No way that I know of, the OS for Palm and the OS on the VAN is not the same operating system so the software wont run. Sorry about that but I don’t know of ANY system that allows that. You might check the Dodge forums to see if anyone has another answer but I doubt it.
Just keep using your current settup.
