gps usb dongle
can i connect a “usb cable of a gps” to a “usb bluetooth dongle” directly?
i need to get location of gps from 100 meters (via bluetooth) with my laptop… any suggestions?
USB GPS receiver cannot, as far as I know, be connected directly to a USB dongle. And even if you purchase a Bluetooth GPS receiver, it will not work over 100 meter distance. If I remember correctly, the limit of Bluetooth is approximately 10 meters.
You could try a trial version of GPS Gate. You would plug the USB GPS receiver into your laptop, and then GPS Gate could be set up to retransmit your location info over WiFi network (not Bluetooth). This could work over the needed 100 meter distance.
