geocaching gps? please help?

well me and my friend wanna go geocaching. but we need a gps. we found one thats expecially for geocaching for70 dollars. but were not sure if that would make things to easy. do you? if yes then any seggestions for gps we should buy. under 100.

Any GPS will get you started, even the cheapest. If you decide you like the game and want to upgrade, you can put your inexpensive unit on EBay or Craigslist and move up. I suspect you may be talking about the Geomate at the $70 price point. I’m not too impressed with it, but I know one cacher who’s found some caches with it. Just make sure it is easily updated (one of my issues with the Geomate) and supports USB connection with your PC. I prefer a built in electronic compass, but you won’t find them in the cheap units – on the other hand lots of folks cache without feeling the need for a compass. It’s a matter of personal preference. I would probably stick with a unit from companies that are well known and to some degree at least recognize caching (Garmin, DeLorme, Magellan). Have fun – hope you enjoy the game.
