Question about Portable GPS?
Hi guys, i’m looking into getting a portable GPS to put into my car. I usually drive 2-3 vehicles and i’d like one I can just take it out and put it in between cars and stuff. Well I don’t really know any of the good brand names. I am looking for one that is below $200 (if it’s slightly above I could consider it). I plan on getting it during christmas time, so hopefully there will be sales going on at best buy, walmart,etc.
I hear that there are different types of GPS, like Pre-loaded Maps, something about subscription fee, pay to update maps. I personally do not like to pay a monthly or yearly fee, i’d probably like one that is pre-loaded map. If I get one is there a way to update it?
Another question is do most show actual store listings, like say there is a wal-mart and kmart on a street, will they list that?

TomTom uses Mapshare which allows you to get map updates and POI updates and its completely free…………………
