Can someone translate GPS coordinates from signed hexadecimal format?

My Garmin iQue Palm/GPS device died–the only evidence I have of valuable coordinates are stored in the Palm Desktop application as “GARMIN 1D36A33A CB861E44″

More information on the format is available at http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=9812 but I have no clue about where to begin.

If anyone can provide these coordinates in more familiar format (or better yet, walk a mathematical novice through the process of converting so I can do the same for others), that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
In pure decimal format, the requested coordinates are in the general vicinity of Hawthorne, NY if that helps. Decimal coordinates of Hawthorne are 41.092976 (North), -73.785939 (West)

Coordinates are made available in any number of formats, but the one common element to all formats would be strings of “41″ and “73″ for the whole degrees.

Simply because the previous answerer provided such a helpful answer, I figured I’d give you the real thing again. (This is what happens when you ask the same question in 3 different places!)

41.08138332 North and -73.81119657 West.
