What a mess !
How is your security ? Do you allow “Cookies” – I never allow them except from “Sites I have Visited” – If you use a wireless router, anyone really clever could pick up the signal and if you remain “Signed On” they can get into your email files.
I regularly “Delete Cookies”,. Empty Cache”, and in History – I remove files or delete, whichever term is used. I am always careful with “Delete”, though, and only use it where I am certain I never want the info. All of those steps will remove those memories of where you’ve been and how you got there, I never ask to have anything remembered, either.
I just read that changing your password would remove your “Address Book” so I would look into that before I changed my password. If it doesn’t remove your info, change your password to something with letters AND numbers (that only you will be able to know)
You can retrieve deleted contacts. Here’s how:
Inbox
Contacts
View All Contacts
Select drop down arrow
Deleted Contacts
Select each deleted contact and follow instructions, all information will be returned. I imagine there is a time limit, so do not wait.
I would definitely be either setting up a completely new account or changing my password, making sure I didn’t loose all my information.
Then I would write to every one of my contacts telling them of the Breach of Security and informing them of your new address.
I wonder just how many people have had this happen, I am adding a link to an article regarding the attempts to breach Yahoo’s security

Do a “Search” in Yahoo Answers for additional instructions.
Good luck
