gps for cars in india

Do you think it will be possible to implement GPS for cars in India, like the western countries?

GPS has several advantages like:
To navigate easily through the roads
To find out the nearest path between two points
etc.

GPS works anywhere the device can pick up at least 3 satellites. India’s latitude would allow GPS to work anywhere in the country. The only limiting factor is the cost of the GPS unit itself.

OnStar is a monitored GPS system that requires a subscription to get use from and I don’t think they (GM) provide that service outside of N. America, but I’m not sure about that.
