Are the USB cables for Canon camera A540 and Garmin Nuvi GPS interchangeable?
Hi Earl, the cables should work just fine. I know the Nuvi GPS has a mini-USB connection on the back of the unit and I hope your canon 540 also have a mini-USB connection. If this is the case, you can use either cables.
USB cables are very standard since they are used for two main purposes, transfer digital data and provide power. I would recommend to try first using the camera USB cable to connect the GPS to the computer. If the cable works, you should be able to transfer files into the GPS unit (or at least view the content in the GPS memory) and charge the internal battery at the same time.
