Questions about Apple iPod Touch 3rd Generation and GPS?

Does the 3rd Generation Touch have GPS built in? If so, can you use it for Geocaching. Essentially downloading or entering coordinates and having it guide you there.

I’m not looking for road navigation, merely the ability to have it show me where I am and guide me from point A to Point B via an arrow.

Does it have a built-in compass?
