Apple iPhone 3g GPS.Does it work?
I was in the apple store today and as demo on the website I tried to find my place on the maps but that blinking blue spot did not show up instead a large area was circled.What is the problem?
From what I understand, the size of the circle corresponds with the certainty about your location. If you are just relying on cell tower data, the GPS will only be able to pinpoint your position down to an area the size of several blocks. With a GPS signal in addition to the cell tower data, your position can be pinpointed to a matter of meters. The blue dot’s size will correspond to this. I don’t have an iPhone 3G, just going from what I have read about it.
