One of the excellent presents that a woman can get in her life is that treasured ring that her beloved man gives to her when he requests her hand in marriage. When the lady accepts the ring, it becomes a formal representation of a future wedding and a new chapter in the couple’s lives.

Diamond engagement rings come in a large number of forms, styles, and shapes. But the heart of the ring, the diamond itself, is organized into merely three main sorts of cuts: brilliant cut, step cut, and mixed cut. But do you know that in the past and in contemporary times, more styles of cuts are introduced?

Vintage Cuts

1. Old Mine Cut
This cut style features a square form. But the corners are subtly rounded, and the stone is decorated with brilliant-cut style facets. In general, the crown is high, the table is tiny, and the cullet is big enough that it can be seen through the table.

2. Old European Cut
An Old European cut diamond is similar to one with an Old Mine cut. But the gemstone is round rather than square.

3. Cushion Cut
A gemstone with a Cushion cut looks like an Old Mine cut, but the gemstone is more rectangular in shape rather than square.

4. Rose Cut
A luxurious cutting style, a Rose Cut diamond bears a semblance to an inverted brilliant cut gemstone with the cullet at the top and the table at the bottom. Its brilliant-type facets are positioned to resemble a rosebud.

Newer Cuts

1. Crisscut
A gemstone with a crisscut design features a lot of crisscrossed facets to enhance the diamond’s brilliance.

2. Leo
Not strictly a cut but more of a choice of stones, Leo diamonds are determined and certified for their high reflectivity, an aspect of brilliance.

3. Quadrillion
This is a square-shaped cut with sharply angled corners. A prominent of this cut style is the set of 49 facets that are strategically set to create a star-shaped effect in the middle of the jewel.

4. Trielle
A gemstone with a Trielle cut is triangular. It is cut and polished in such a way that it appears more impressive than its implied carat weight.

When you’re in a jewellery establishment hunting for engagement rings, diamond earrings, and other jewellery, try choosing jewellery that feature these rare cuts.
