Comparison Of Popular Gas Grills

The first time we laid eyes on the Weber Genesis Grill, it looked just like every other gas grill out there. So obviously we had to try it out and see if it was going to perform like all the others as well. Once we got our hands on one it was time to put her to work. We grilled fish, steak, and chicken on our new Weber Genesis Grill and this is what we found.

The Weber Genesis

These are propane powered gas grills that offer 637 inches of cooking space. If you do your research it’s well over what other grills offer. The primary cooking is over a 507 square inch area, while the 130 square inches come strictly from the warming rack. So even if you have to cook for a huge get together or occasion, there will be plenty of room to cook and feed everyone.

The burners (3) are all made from stainless steel and provide 42,800 BTU per hour. What does this mean exactly? Well, you’re left with an easier way to cook your meat, and within a shorter period of time. Also, the side burner offers 12,000 BTU for sauces and soups. Oh, and if you need those great looking sear marks on your meat, the cast iron cooking grates make you look like a professional.

Extra Components

While all of this sounds great, there are other benefits to the Weber Genesis. One of the biggest advantages to using one of these grills is the porcelain enameled flavorized bars. These help keep cook the food evenly without having to worry about flare ups. There is also an Electronic Crossover ignition system that makes turning this grill on and off much easier.

Construction

The Weber Genesis was very simple to grill on, which is exactly what we look for in gas grills. The Weber Genesis also comes with a center mounted thermometer and everything is pretty much stainless steel. That means it not only cooked our food to our liking, but it also looked good sitting in our back yard. The propane tank is hidden by an enclosed cart that have stainless steel doors. The Weber Genesis also isn’t very big. It only measures 30 by 60 by 64 ½ inches. That means it should fit in any backyard space.

We’d never used Weber Genesis gas grills before, but we are no strangers to gas grills in general. That means that the Weber Genesis had a lot to live up to, since we have used many gas grills in our time. However, the Weber Genesis Grills did cook our food to our liking, especially because of the built in flavorizer and thermometer, and that’s exactly what we would want if we were searching for a gas grill to host our backyard barbeques.
