A Short Device Article On The Dell 3130 Printer

For a workplace requiring professional-looking documents and low cost per page, a laser printer is recommendable. Currently, there are a lot of them flooding the market, and one of them is the Dell 3130 printer with Dell Color Laser 3130 cartridge. It has room for upgrading certain features, including a wireless interface, to keep up with your changing demands.

Its stylish black body can complement any existing decorations or pieces of furniture in your workplace. Located on the top panel is a status LCD and a handful of well-laid out buttons for easy operation of the laser toner. It has a 55.7 lb. weight and its body measures 15.8 in x 19.8 in x 18.5 in (width x height x depth).

Within it is a fast processor with a 400MHz speed, allowing the machine to produce as much as 31 monochrome and 26 color pages every minute. These numbers will of course vary with actual use, depending on certain factors including the document’s content and the media size used. Speaking of media, supported types include plain paper, recycled, coated, letterhead, pre-punched, envelope, transparencies, card stock and labels.

Standard paper input includes a 150-sheet multipurpose tray and a 250-sheet drawer. But thanks to additional input accessories (sold separately), the maximum paper input may be increased to 950 sheets all in all. One great thing about this laser machine is it already comes with a built-in duplex for faster two-sided printing. It’s automated so you need not turn the pages over each time.

While it already comes with a memory amounting to 250MB, it may be upgraded to as high as 1280MB for more storage. Included are printer languages such as HP PCL 6 and 5e with 81 fonts combined, and Adobe PostScript 3 with 136 fonts. A resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch is enough for the machine to churn out professional-looking printouts each time.

Black, magenta, yellow and cyan are the 4 toner cartridges that come shipped with the machine. According to the manufacturer, the black cartridge can yield as much as 4000 pages, while the others can yield 300 pages each. With a duty cycle of 70000 pages every month, even the heaviest demands may be met accordingly.

Found within this laser unit are some features that make it more convenient to use and maintain. The Dell ColorTrack 2.1 allows you to create up to 50 user or department accounts by setting limits to monochrome and color printing tasks. This means you’re capable of keeping the usage cost low. The Dell Toner Management, on the other hand, helps in monitoring toner use and notifies you when you need to replace a cartridge. With an internet hookup, you may even order a replacement online.

There are three connectivity interfaces and they are parallel IEEE 1284, hi-speed USB 2.0 and Ethernet 10/100BaseT ports. With them, it’s easier to attach the machine to a computer or a group of such. Further, installation is a snap since it’s compatible with a number of operating systems. Keep your office clean by eliminating unnecessary wires. Such is possible with the use of an optional wireless 802.11b/g networking adapter.

The Dell 3130 printer with Dell Laser 3130 cartridges, employs laser technology in giving you documents with professional quality but in an economical fashion. Room for upgrades abound from media handling, laser toner, memory to connectivity. This makes it flexible enough to keep up with your changing workplace demands using toner.
