a gps wikipedia
Which microformat has achieved the widest acceptance in Wikipedia?
Would that be GPS coordinates, or is there another with a stronger claim?
The hCard (normally used for “contact information”) is the most widely-accepted microformat on Wikipedia, currently appearing in 25,344 articles, with hGeo microformat(s) appearing in only 4,021. Other microformats are barely used at all on Wikipedia. (For example, only a handful of product-related articles use the hProduct microformat, such as the article on “Yummy Dough.”)
Most of the 25K articles with hCards use the Infobox_Biography template, or some variation of it (there are a large number of variants for actors, authors, politicians, athletes, musicians, scientists, porn stars, and so on).
